Import pattern from sketchup

Import pattern from sketchup

Hello,

For my project I have a pattern in the facade. Putting this pattern in Revit results in a crash of Revit...
Therefore, I was thinking to put the pattern in Revit by first making it in Sketchup (Image: Pattern Sketchup).

However, when I import this in Revit I miss the materials/textures and it has a different appearance in the model in 'hidden line' appearance, but also when in realistic/rendering... It is totally black.....................................................................
(image  2 )

So I deleted the profiles in Sketchup and imported it again, but still it does not work, still it is black in apppearance mode......... And in hidden line mode now some parts of the pattern have different colors, instead of having the same apearance as in Sketchup... (image 3)

Can someone help me how i can import this perforated facade well in Revit, so the appearance is also the same as in Sketchup (Image: Pattern Sketchup) And does anyone kow how to delete/turn off these segments lines, which are not visible in sketchup but are in revit ( Yellow mark in image 3)

Or is there another smart way to put a perforated facade in Revit without a crash..?

I watched several youtube videos + looked to forums but no result..

Thanks in advance:)

Do you have a Revit File? If so, post it.

I imported the file in 2 different ways, but none show the desired appearance as visible in Sketchup (Image: Pattern Sketchup).

Texture from a SketchUp model is never going to transfer over to Revit.  You need to create a Revit material, create a material asset using the same image for texture/cutout and assign the material to the geometry.

I tried it, bu I can not edit the Sketchup import, so also not assigning Revit materials to it..?

You assign materials to Layers via to Object Styles > Import categories.

You need to open the DWG and set all the elements to BYLAYER. Right now, they are not.

Is there a way to do this in Sketchup? Because if I export it to 3D model, and want to adjust it to Bylayer in Cad, my laptop crashes..

Export the Screen to DWG and clean it up (e.g. BYBAYER, etc.) - and then insert it back into Revit and assign a Revit Graphic/Appearance Material  to it.  But be fore-warned: the Screen is extremely large and unwieldly - both in AutoCAD and Revit.  I wouldn't use it in a Revit Project myself.

Thank you for your help! I will try this!

Yes the is big, and its just a part of the total... What would you recommend me to do? (Since I need to make 3D views / facade drawings) etc.

Here is my attempt. I convert the panel and turn it as fonts so you can use model text to create light weight panel that won't crash. See attached.
