I need to create a key schedule that will feed information into a room schedule.
They key schedule that I need in revit is pretty long with loads of columns and values. It there any way to import it without using Dynamo, please?

Dynamo would be my first choice irrespective if it would be the easy version of wrting parameter values from excel or the complex version with timely syncs. If you are interested in venturing into this world here is a link which would be useful for you to generate both the graph and the needed python scripts Synchronize Revit Key Schedules Using an Excel Master List

Other than Dynamo, you can use Pyrevit, BIM Link or DiRoots Sheet Link (they used to be free...Pyrevit is still for sure and you can download from Github) to link and sync Excel worksheet to Revit Schedules...see quick youtube below on how to use Sheet Link

You have "Export/ Import Excel" from Mlabs. It's free too.

I think diroots recently switched to freemium, although I don't know if it affects SheetLink tool.

Hi, thanks for answering.
I use Mlabs for Excel, unfortunately, it doesn't allow importing or exporting to Key scheduled, only model schedules

Check the version you have installed.
I think it's possible since 5.1 version, but with the "Schedule link (box)" button. It doesn't work with "Export to Excel."

Thank you @arq_42 , the new version is only a few weeks old.

I installed it and tested, works fine if you are trying to only update values of parameters and key entries that already part of the Key Schedule in Revit, Schedule Link (sync) works like a dream.

However, when trying to use 'Schedule Link' (Box) and selecting a Key schedule it shows an error.

I'm afraid I will have to stick with Dynamo as I will need several things to happen:
1- Add new keys in excel (I'm not planning to manually add 200 rows in the Revit key schedule as there is no better way to do it).
2- I need to be able to add parameters in excel, so those parameters can be created in the revit file once the excel is imported back.

Thanks

Life is hard for people like me who don't use Dynamo. Paying a +£500 license for Ideate for a single task sounds crazy. DiRoots may be the way to go.

Thanks @jay_colcombe

DiRoots worked like a charm.

But, in its latest versions, DiRoots has become freemium, with some tools free, others paid, and others paid only for advanced features.
Guess which tool is 100% paid (That said, if the price is right for you, it still works well.)
