Import AutoCAD 3d

Hello everyone,

This may just be a simple question.  Is there a way to import the 3d cad files into Revit LT?  I have been transitioning over to Revit utilizing Revit LT after using AutoCAD ACA for years.  Is there a way to import the 3d cad files into Revit LT?  I was looking to avoid having to redraw everything if possible.

Currently using Revit LT Suite 2025.

AutoCAD Files were created using ACA 2024 and older.

Thank you,

Mike

Yes.  Import DWG and must UNTICK Current View only box.

However, you will not be able to modify the imported 3D except for materiality, in most cases.  If the model is simple enough that Revit will let you create parts then you can modify parts geometry, but only with full Revit, not LT.

Considering the unnecessary leftovers DWG leave behind when imported, I would recommend that you use IFC format. However, this would only work if you have Autocad MEP or Autocad Architecture or any other Software (not necessarily from Autodesk) that can export the 3D DWG to IFC.

Thank you.  I was thinking it was the limitations of Revit LT.  I think I'll start a trial of ACA to try out the IFC option to see how it works.
