Multi - unit Project Setup

We are a small firm and work on a number of development projects where we have one lot with several units on it.  Sometimes the units are unique, but more often than not they are the same base unit used multiple times (including reverses).  We used to have our base file (say unit 100R) and copy that file to create unit 100L.  This resulted in having to go into two files and make the same changes.  In order to reduce mistakes, I thought linking the base unit files into a site file made more sense.  We permit lots and not individual units in these cases.

The problem I am running into is the reverse plans have the annotation and dimensions justified incorrectly and the reflected ceiling plans do not show all of the information as the base file reflected ceiling plans.

My questions are: 1. is there a work around for these issues? 2. is there a better way to set up these projects?

Having the base unit linked in is the right approach, more units of the same type => place additional instances of the link. What you are describing as issues, from what you described at least, are related to visibility graphics display  settings of the linked model.

You can open the visibility graphics dialogue and under the Revit links set the linked unit to show as per Link and not as per host. You can also set it to custom and do further adjustments to how the link should display in the host without having to open the linked model to do such changes
