Image placed into the sheet after CAD export

Hi All,

I'm struggling with an image that I have on my sheet. I took the following example (Revit 2018 sample sheet):

 image.png

When I export this sheet to a CAD format the CAD file is created with the LOGO image next to it.

I'd like to know if there is a way to export this image "encrusted" into the drawing so I don't have to deal with the image reference path.

 image.png

I tried to BIND the drawing in Autocad with no desired results. Is there another object type that you recommend to use for this kind of images (ex. Firm Logos)?

Any tip of advice will be well received.

Thanks in advance!

No this is how Revit export images when creating dwgs. No settings that allow to bind the images during export

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

When the logo has linework that is smaller than Revit will allow or custom fonts, I tend to create them in Autocad and assign the proper layers to it so I can manipulate it in Revit.  Insert the DWG into an annotation symbol family then into your titleblock.  This way when you export to dwg there are no image files.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for the response. I don't think I fully understand your recommendation.

I have the image file as a PNG, then I create a new DWG and insert the PNG. Finnaly I import this DWG file into Revit as an annotation symbol (you mean that I have to create a family just for the image?)? Is this correct?

Thanks in advance!

Nope...get rid of the image totally.  Doesn't matter where an image is placed, it will always wind up being a referenced image when you export to dwg.

I'm saying create a logo using fill patterns and text in Autocad if it can't be done in Revit first.  Sometimes it just cannot be done in Revit.  This is one of the items I am currently fixing at my office as there are lots of logo images.

Hi,

I followed your recommendations and digitalized the image logo but when export the image turns into color red. Every fill region of my sheet is turned into a solid fill colored red, without taking in count custom color.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Did you go into your DWG Export settings and change the Color ID for the layers that you assigned for the logo in the titleblock or are they still all the same color ID?  My guess is all your title block colors are the same and that color ID is red in the CTB file in Autocad.

Try these Export settings.

@ToanDN and @Anonymous thanks a lot for the help. The solution is a mix of both of you!

Cheers!
