Hello everybody,
I have made a 3d model from scratch and wrote it to an IFC file. Now when importing this model, I have a problem with my family structure. The problem is that each element gets its own family ( for example basic wall 54897 ) instead of the element going into the family of basic wall.
I have tried to alter the structure of the IFC fill but so far no luck. Where in the IFC file is it determined to which family the wall belongs? And a sidequestion: Is it able to alter the family of this basic walls? Or is IFC not changeable in this regard to Revit?
Kind regards,
Andreas

How did You create this IFC file? In which software?
Can You post this example IFC?

Hey @Rafal.Gaweda
It didn't allow me to upload a file with the ifc extension. So i uploaded the .rvt file.
I have now uploaded the ifc file as a .txt file.
Hope this is a good way to go.
Kind regards,
Andreas

I am afraid it has been exported like that from Bricscad.

Hey @Rafal.Gaweda ,
When I import my model from FME directly (see attachment) I do get the same error. So not bricscad?
Any idea where in the conversion this is happening?

Hello, @Rafal.Gaweda
Did a quick check on my IFC file, apparently something was going wrong with IFC4. I already opened this file in Solibri
to check if there were any errors.
In attachment the same file but in IFC2X3
Hope we can finally work on solving the question after this hiccups.

Hey @Rafal.Gaweda
I was out due some sickness so sorry for the late reply. Do you have any idea why the exported objects aren't correct?
Kind regards,
Andreas
