Hi all
I have a Revit file with 2 buildings. When I export this file to IFC, there is just 1 IFCBuilding in the IFC file. Does anyone know how can I have 2 IFCBuildings in the exported IFC file?
Cheers,
Maryam
easy : isolate the 1st building before exporting to ifc, dont forget to enable the export only visible in view (i use 3d view). then repeat with the second building.
Hi, thank you for your response but with this solution, I'll end up with two separate IFC files. I'm looking for a way to have 2 IFCBuildings in one IFC file. Is it possible?
sorry lol i read the opposite ![]()
well in that case, a simple ifc viewer can federate your mutiple models. i use xBimXplorer.
Apparently merging two IFC files is a bit tricky and it may cause some problems. Based on the structure of IFC, I should have two IFCbuildings so, why Revit does not export them as two separate buildings? There should be a way to this in Revit.
wait, you have 2 buildings in one Revit file, but are one of them is a link? or does it have different phases?
Both buildings have been defined in phase 1 and there is no link.
Indeed this is strange, because it should work. Did you try any of the export template or use your own settings?
I didn't change the default settings that much tbh. I just defined the phase and changed the space boundaries option since I need IFCSpace.
Can you send a link to the file? I private message if that dont bother you.
Sorry, I cannot share the file. I'm not the architect. I just need a proper export to IFC. I've seen this problem before but no solution has been provided.
