ifc export - elements on various levels with same height - ifc-file all elements on same level

Hello,

I have various levels with the same height(, due to changes that may come I need it as flexible as possible). I have one element on level Ebene_0, some elements in the south are eg. on the level +00_1AL_BH_S1 and some elements in the north are on +00_1AL_BH_N1. When I export the ifcfile all elements are on Ebene_0. I double checked and my elements have the right base level as seen in the pdf.

I can't meet the requirements of our ifc-structure like this and when we import the file to Allplan the elements are located on the wrong drawing file.

I've tried all different kind of settings in Revit. I've tried the viewers (Desite, Solibri, Navisworks) all show the same phenomenon. Anybody an idea how to solve it? How does Revit choose the export level?

I export to ifc2x3 (Allplan cant import ifc4)

Appreciate any idea! Thank you very much!

Cheers,

Andi

Andi,

If I understood correctly, you have multiple building levels at the same elevation, is that correct? If so, I believe the export process is exporting items based on their elevation first and not necessarily tied to the correct "level" as they're all at the same elevation.

I don't know what Revit version you are running but, installing the updated ifc exporters (I believe they're on SourceForge) and try checking "Export Revit Property Sets" on 3rd tab, and  "Use visible revit name as the IFCEntity name" on 5th tab of the "Modify Setup" window.

ifc exports from Revit are such a pain that you may have to play with settings in multiple attempts to see if any of them makes a difference. If comes to worst, try arranging your levels with small incremental elevation differences (a centimeter or so difference) to see if it helps.

Good luck

Hi Ihsan,

thank you very much for your reply.

Yes, you understood correctly. I have multiple levels with same elevation.

I've tried the settings you suggested in the modify setup, but it didn't work.

Although, I could get the result I wanted by changing the elevation of each level bei 0,0001 m. It is not perfect, but it works so far. Tahnk you!

I hope this 0,0001m doesn't effect my model. Eg. having an angle with 90,0001° is pretty bad.
