I have a drafting view that is not to scale and just needs to be resized to fit on a sheet. I can do 6"=1' which is too small or 1=1 which is too big but no inbetween because I would need to enter a fraction of a number. Are you really unable to create a scale with a fraction in it? This is really frustrating. Anyone know of a solution or work around?

I use metric numbers and unites actually,
But in the scale menu there's a custom button to put your desired scale in,
Hope this helpsScaleProb.png

I know about custom scale and again it won't let me scale to a non integer. I tried switching to metric but that didn't help since its still a ratio of integers. Thanks anyway

Wow. This is an issue I don't think I've ever come up against before.

But you are right. The Custom Scale dialog should allow for something like 1 : 1.25 as you would need for 9" = 1' but it doesn't. Wierd. I have no ideas for a solution.

So I'm just going to suggest that you accepet 6" = 1' and move forward. Or scale all 2D elements in your view.

I'm surprised 6"=1' is too small, so I'm curious. What do you need such an oddball scale for? Are you able to explain? There may be an alternative solution.

Since the view is N.T.S. maybe use the "Scale" modify tool on the whole view and scale it up by 1.5 or so?

I would do that but you can't scale texts and other objects in Revit

A 9" to 1" is not a normal architectural scale. I recommend staying with typical scales for detailing.

I am trying to make parts for our fab shop and would like to have a zoom extents feature within the crop region of the view.  Since that is not possible (using orthographic instead of perspective camera view) I am forced to try and make a custom scale or remake my families to the size needed for the view I need for the page.  Back to AutoCAD I go again...

The need to be able to use non-integer scales is real and not "odd".  I have a long list of details that have 1/8" text that is larger than the typical 3/32" text used throughout this industry for at least the last 40 years.  The details need to match the rest of the drawing set if possible without having to redraw everything and re-texting them.

I'm amazed that this "non-integer" issue remains after 20 years of posts asking for truly customizable scales rather than being shackled with what others believe I should be using.

@peifla

I would resize the text, not the entire detail.
