Sweeps /Reveals

Sweeps /Reveals

Hi there,

using Revit 2014, I have created a 3D view (using camera) and now want to add reveals/sweeps.  From instructions I am following, it leads me to believe that I should be able to add these directly via Structure-Wall-Reveal menu (basically not changing the wall structure).   However, these are not options (greyed out). I see it as an option if I click in Cross Section/ Elevations.

Does anyone know if it is possible? Perhaps I have done something wrong.

Thanks

Hi Dear, Simply you'd need to activate preview panel (Which can be found in the left downer corner ,

Then switch to a section preview so those buttons are no longer greyed out,

Another way is to go to the wall command dropdown menue and you will find sweep reveals, in this method you will be able to add them manually

Differences :
The structure editing method will allow you to add them Horizontally only, however the other method will allow you to add it Vertically too

Greetings.
Karam

hi Karen,

"Another way is to go to the wall command dropdown menue and you will find sweep reveals, in this method you will be able to add them manually"

This is the method i wish to use. However I am seeing the drop downs greyed out.  I created the view and then clicked on it, and go up to the Structure menu but the options are not there.  The only option I am offered is "Modify" under the Stucture Tab. I can see the others [Beam, Wall, Column etc] but they are not accessible.

Thanks -- I assume I am doing something small incorrectly but cant fathom what.

Yes it is greyed if you're in a plan view,
Go to an elevation or take a section infront of the wanted wall, or use it in 3D, (NOT CAMERA) >> ISOmetric will work

Tell if this solves your problem (Check the image) the left one is in 3D, the right one is in  a plan view
