How to upgrade from Revit 2018 to 2019

I have recently installed Revit 2018 (student version) on my PC but for a university project it is required for me to download 2019. I have tried installing 2019 on my PC because I have been told that you can have two different versions on your PC at the same time. However, after attempting to install Revit 2019 it was unsuccessful and showed an error. I'm wondering if the download would work for 2019 if I uninstall 2018? I'm not sure how to go about this.

what is the error messages, post it here? you can install two version of revit (or you can install different version of revit as long as you have valid license for different version) but you need to apply Educational license for your Revit 2019. thanks

sing into your student account on Autodesk site and find the Revit version download it from there, or you can install directly from there instead of downloading a .exe file.

Hi,

The issue has been resolved. On my second attempt at reinstalling it worked.  Thanks for everyone's help.

FWIW: Revit is not backward compatible, so keep this in mind if you "upgrade" a project -- especially if it's a "team" project.  .
