view range controls the depth of a plan or Reflected ceiling view

crop region manages the plan views limit for both modeled elements and Annotative elements

Section boxes control the depth of 3d views

Far Clipping controls the depth of an Elevation or Section view

all of these settings are found on the properties Palette under Extents for each view type

the blue highlighted lines display the limit of my plan view the blue dots are for adjusting the overall size of my view limits.

the dashed line displays the limit of my annotative area.

the images below display the Far Clipping area of both a section and an Elevation the dashed line limits the distance you are looking into the building

the section box defines the limit of a 3d view as displayed in the image below note the blue highlighted lines and the directional arrows which allow you to flex the size in all directions
