Installed it = created a new fill pattern with the new PAT file loaded in?
To verify this: Within Revit.... go to... [MANAGE] > [ADDITIONAL SETTINGS] > [FILL PATTERNS]
You should see under "Pattern Type: Drafting" that there is a vertical plywood drafting pattern and a horizontal plywood drafting pattern. If you do not see your vertical PAT you downloaded, then create a new drafting pattern here and load it in.
Although you loaded the pattern into Revit, you still need to create a Filled Region that has this pattern applied to it.
The easiest way to do this is to draw a filled region in your view... click on the filled region to highlight it. With it selected, through the properties window, click [EDIT TYPE]. Then [DUPLICATE]. Now you created a new filled region that will not change all the others. Name this appropriately and under "FILL PATTERN" - change that to the new vertical plywood fill pattern you loaded in.
This is actually good because multiple filled regions can reference a single fill pattern (there are various reasons why you might want to do this). Another way to create the new filled region is under the project browser. If you go scroll down to FAMILIES > DETAIL ITEMS > FILLED REGIONS > [all filled regions live here]. This is a good spot to edit naming and keep your file clean.
