When placing furniture, when I tap the spacebar it rotates 90 degrees. How can I place a mirrored copy?

How to place furniture?
you can do it using Control tab - in Family editor select control tab and use Double Horizontal...Onnce , family loaded into Project , the flip icon will allow mirroring

I have never seen the Control Type box before. Where is it?
I am using Revit 2016.
if the family has not already have it , then , you have to open Family
- click on Edit Family .
- in Floor Plan ( in Family Editor) >Create>Control - click on the icon-Control Type -choose Double Horizontal and Double Vertical

I still do not see it. And I have no Create tab.
But you are in Project ( as I can see from your screenshot).
You have to click on the Family Object (if it is already loaded) and then : Mode >Edit Family - enter in Family Editor - from here I shown in my screencast the steps..
In my screencast , I 've created a new Furniture Family from scratch...
