How to make the curtainwall panels empty (invisible) without doing them one by one

Hi,

I have made this wood guardrail using a curtainwall family but the glazing is still there. I have loaded the empty panel but I don't want to replace the panels one by one. Is there a way to modify this curtainwall family and assign the empty panel?

It's a type parameter, assign the panel there.

Hi Steve,

thanks for your response. It did work but also gives the warning that it does not work for non-rectangular panels. Is there a way to fix that as well?

Are you using the System Empty Panel?

Actually it's not exactly that, where can I get the one you're using?

Did you make the panel family? There is a built in system family, see the image I attached after posting originally. Only the system panel families, glazing, solid and empty can deal with not rectangular panels.

Empty System Panel > Empty.  If you don't have it, open an architectural template project, locate the family type in the browser and copy paste to your project.

Hello,

Sorry I am not sure what you mean, I'll post a link to my Google Drive which has the Revit file. Is that what you prefer? I did make a new family type 'metric curtain wall panel', left it empty (invisible panel) and then loaded that in and selected the correct one in my project but still nothing changed. Let me know if the file opens. Thank you

It's part of the standard templates that come with Revit. You should have Solid, Glazed and Empty. Download the file I've attached and copy the curtain wall to clipboard and paste it into your project. It will add the empty type.

Thanks Steve,

I think I know why it was not working. Because I have to redraw the feature wall because even after loading in yours it was still the same, but then I drew a curved wall from scratch and it worked. Thank you

You'd have to assign the system empty panel to your original curtain wall even after pasting in my CW. My CW would just make the empty panel available to use in yours. Assigning it is still required.
