Hello Folks:

when creating Swept Blend..

How Can you keep Swept Blend profiles vertical but not perpendicular to the path?? any suggestions?

I want to see a photograph of the architectural feature (or whatever it is) that you are trying to model in Revit with a sweep. I don't understand your written description or screenshot.  Doesn't look like anybody else does either, since you've had no responses.

Use an adaptive generic model family with nested profile families that are set to be always vertical.

Iam trying to model Ramp with inverted beams on both sides as shown in the picture, I need the family category to be "Structural framing" so I can host rebar, However I need the profile of the swept blend to be perpendicular to the Ground, I dont have an option to control the angle between profile and ground. sorry I know my language is not that good I hope I could explain my point 

 

All options grayed out except first one! why?!

it might be a solution but not long term especially if you want to modify the model, it would waste much time, thank you though

How come your profiles here (in the picture you attached for swept blend ) are not perpendicular to the Path??

in the real world, a beam running along the underside of a ramp (e.g. at an angle to ground level) does not remain perpendicular to the level ground below. That doesn't even make sense.   That's why I asked to see a photograph. 

 

Also, why are you using a SWEEP BLEND?

Sure. I would cut the ends vertically and perpendicular to ground.  Bada bing.

Accepted solution

- Start a swept blend

- Draw the path using one spline on the level

- Draw the start profile at starting point of the spline

- Draw the end profile at end point of the profile move it vertically

(if you use a loaded profile family then you can simply set Vertical offset from properties)
