How to import cad as detail lines

When I import cad dwg files it comes as model lines.Is is possible to import cad file as detail lines or change model lines to detail lines in revit. Thank you

If you import a CAD file into a Detail Family then all lines are detail lines.

The answer is yes to both questions.  You can import as detail lines and you can change a model line to a detail line.

To import CAD as detail lines use the check box in the import dialog log "current view only" this will impor tthe CAD file as detail lines.

To convert a line from model to detail (or vice versa) select the line and use the convert tool on the contextual tab.

You may need to elaborate.  The setting to import a DWG to "current view only" has been around in Revit for...as long as I can remember. The ability to convert lines from model to detail and back is newer, maybe 2012, 2013???

I imported the CAD drawing as you said, im working in revit 2023 but I don't see the "convert line" option

Tick Current View Only when import then all cad lines are imported as detail lines. No need to convert after.

This isn't working. The "Current View Only" is grey. Am I supposed to import this into a family?

I had the same problem until I selected the imported autocad file and Full exploded it. Now it's showing up as detail lines.
