How to get my Revit grid with all information to Navisworks

Hello @Anonymous, I am struggeling to get the Grid I designed in Revit 2022 into my Navis file. When I use the exporter for Navisworks the grid lines as well as the actual grid position are always missing. I tried several youtube how to's but with no success or they have been to old with setting not available anymore.

I am getting the grid from sub suppliers or doing it my self. I am depending on the grid position in the Navis for the collision check to better coordinate the collisions with customer & suppliers.

Hi,

Pretty sure if you see your grid lines/bubbles in 3D and your export it as DWFX you'll be able to see them

Create a dedicated 3D view to export to NWC and make sure everything you wish to export is visible in that view.

I use Navisworks a lot and typically export using the NWC exporter from Revit or use the Batch Utility inside Navisworks to export RVT files.  I've never had any issues with grids not showing up in the export, but you do have to turn the Grids on in Navisworks.

See screen shot attached for the button to turn the Grids on in Navisworks.

Hope this helps.

Hello @Anonymous,

making a dedicated 3D view where you check that all thigs for the export are visable is the solution. The grid will be exported but the visability in the Navis is switched of. When you switch on the grid with the Navis function you can see the grid but you cant use it for measuring. Unhide the elements in the selection tree for Grids you can catch them for measuring.

Only one downside: the bubbles (6.5mm bubbles) will only be triangles and the letters and numbers dissapear.

So my solution at the moment will be to switch grid elements to visable and use the function 'Grid' in Navis.
