How to find name

I didn't expect to be doing too much of this, but I find myself with a few void extrusions like the one below:

Capture.PNG

which I've left as their default names.  Some of which are walls and others ceilings.

I can find them using the rather laborius way of searching through the family tree but I can still have multiple wall voids named Wall 1, Wall 2, Wall 3 etc and I've no idea which is which.

Is there a way to find the name of a void when you click on it?  Like in the image above, I have it highlighted but I don't know what it is called..!!

I was hoping the name might appear in the properties tree but no such luck 😉

Create a schedule, set the schedule and a 3d view side by side, select each row in the schedule and the element will be highlighted in tbe 3d view.

Hover your cursor over the void and a tooltip will show up next to the cursor showing the element category, family name, type name. This also shows up in the bottom left of the Revit window.

Huh?  Are you saying the name of the family doesn't show up under Properties when you select it?  You sure about that?

Have you given much thought to maybe instituting a naming convention for In-Place Families? It would make it a whole lot easier to identify and manage them.

Funnily enough they don't. I tried a couple of different model in place elements and the name doesn't show up in properties even if you name the family/element when it's created.

The only renaming option I can find is in the family section of the project browser.

@barthbradleyThis is what I get in the properties windows after selecting the cutout:

Name Properties.png

Ordinarily I do name things appropriately as I'm going along (unless it's just a rough test piece just to get the hang of a particular feature in which case it gets scrapped afterwards!!) but I wasn't envisaging having more than one and then things got carried away.......

@Lachlan-JWPI found it too in the families browser but only after searching as I didn't know what to look for.

I also find it odd that the name doesn't turn up in the properties list. What's the point, otherwise, of a name.
