What is it that you would want to change about the picture?

Right now the cabinet is shown upside-down I would like a front view or an up-right 3D view of the cabinet to be shown.

Revit displays a 3D view of the object in the position in which it was modeled. If you want the view to change. the object will need to be rotated accordingly.

Wouldn't the cabinet be inserted upside-down if I did that?

Does the cabinet behave correctly when inserted into the Project?

Is the family a hosted family - ie wall, face, or ceiling?

Finally, can you share the family?

Face based families doe show up with weird 3D views! Here is a quick fix -

1) Start a New Family

2) Use the Casework - Wall Based template

3) Load your original family into the new family

4) Associate nested family's parameters with host family.

You have now converted a face based family to wall based. The 3D view in properties should also show up correctly.

Our drafters don't want it wall based, they want it to be face based.

As far as casework goes, wall based behaves the same way as face based. Or you could go with generic model, and snap it in place. The result will be the same.

Face based families will always show the object lying on its back. We have face based toilets in our library that show up lying on their backs. Strange but true.
