How to display area of walls on elevation

I've been assigned with the task to display wall area's on elevation. The client would like to use this information to accurately cost the building for renovations. I've created a wall tag, but the idea is to see the total wall area of the facade, not just segments of walls on different levels. This would also need to include gross vs nett wall area (with & without window areas).

Does anyone have experience with this? What would be the best way to display this information? Do we rather revert to schedules and use graphic overlays on the elevations to speak with the schedules. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

You can, as you mentioned, use tags. But i think it is more helpful to use schedules, as probably, all the walls are separated...
