I'm trying to create a curved extrusion on a curved wall but am unable to select the wall (set it) as a plane I can interact with and draw on.

Create a ref plane tangential to the curved wall to host your extrusion.  Or create a face based family and it will be hosted on the curved surface of the wall automatically.

I cannot select "Reference Plane" button. It is grayed out for me.

Draw it on a plan view, not 3d.

But again, I recommend to use a wall or face based family.

I tried it and I've had no luck. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
