How to Create a Curtain Wall Door Family?

I create the railing fence using curtain wall and need to add a gate. So I should create a curtain wall door consisting of railings. Is there a curtain wall door family template?  What is the best way to create a railing door (curtain wall door)?

A door in curtain wall would be a curtain wall panel.

There is a family template to create curtain wall panels. And a door one to create a curtain wall door

There are some generic curtain wall doors in the Curtain Wall Panel folder in the standard library.

well you have 2 options. it could be a curtain wall panel family or a door family.

The first will adapt to your grids and won't appear in a door's schedule

the second will need a placeholder (a wall) to be able to insert the door.

both could have the same way to parameter.

According to this thread, you can insert a door created with Door-Curtainwall template to the curtain wall and the door will show in the door schedule?  I am going to give it a try.

well, another workaround to get this is to create a multicategory schedule.

Yes if you use the Door - curtain wall template it has the category set to door so should schedule as a door

I have found a door-curtainwall family so no need to start from scratch. It has a glass door panel and material is grayed out, not sure where to change the material.
