How to control witch direction the In-Place Mass plane creates

Hi.

I am in In-Place Mass trying to create a plane. I draw the Model or Reference line, select it and then go to create form. However the plane gets created in the wrong direction( it perpendicular of the direction I want. Is there any way so that I can control witch direction the plane creates?

Thanks

Hi,

Attached is a picture of a dormer roof and I want to draw something like the yellow lines. You can see the planes I am trying to draw.

Thanks

It depends on the workplane you draw the line on.  That workplane should be perpendicular to the direction of the extrusion you need.  So in this case, you would need to draw the lines on the fascia front face workplane, not the top or the side of the existing roof.

Use the Viewer if you get disoriented.

I already tried setting the workplane perpendicular to the extrusion. Still the same

You set the work plane first and then draw your extrusion.  Or, name the Work Plane something, select your extrusion, click on Edit Work Plane on the Contextual Tab and then select the named Work Plane to host the extrusion to.
