How to combine 2 masses together

Hi,

I'm having some problems trying to combine 2 masses together when one is extruded out of the other. If you look at the up loaded picture 1. is the curved "curtain wall" and 2. is the arc. I'm trying to get 1 to fit in to 2 how do i do that any help will be useful thank you.

PS I'm pretty new to Revit.

I'd actually build it using real world capabilities. That's what I'd do. Formulating a design is easy. Making that design buildable is the real challenge.  You need to think framing. You've  got the skin.  Now, how is it supported? 

That's how I roll.

@barthbradleyits supposed to be a massing model so the whole thing is supposed to be a conceptual project.

In Addition, should i not figure out the grid lines first to know where the columns go?

Conceptual? Then why worry about how to apply curtain walls? You got the conceptual design down pat, and it's pretty darn nice, if I may say so. Chipboard it and move on.

No it is neither plumb nor rectangular.  You cannot replace it with a regular curtain wall door.  I suggest you, instead of  curtain system, create a wall by face and place a regular door in the wall.  Or, change the panel to a regular wall type and place a door in it. 

For many reasons, a swing door should be plumb even it is placed in a tilted wall.  If you want the door to be tilted, it should be a sliding or awning door.

@barthbradleyI'm struggling with it cause even though its conceptual the project wants me to put in a 3D model of it on revit showing exterior finishes and conceptual floor plan layout.

Plumb means upright, vertically straight.  You can make a wall by face and change it to have any material you want: glass, copper, gold, unobtainium, whatever...  It's actually perfect for conceptual stage.  I was trying to show you but you already deleted the mass surface, alas.

No.  You have to redo it from scratch if you don't have a backup.  Do not ever delete the mass  again.

Oh man if only revit allowed remaking the mass again well i still have the file that you sent so I'm just working on that.

Another question is how to do diagonal curved wall which would not be accessible in Elevation views unless i do it using 3d view but that sounds difficult and there should be a more efficient way right?. Hope you will get my picture .....

@ToanDNSo, I tried doing putting a store front wall on the mass to put curtain doors in but it would not let me make the curtain wall it said i can only use basic wall types only like the generic exterior wall or interior walls.

Create wall by face and pick the surface. Do not use curatin wall tool.

Use basic wall type and change the material to glass.

Sorry but i have another question can you put a floor in side a sphere mass?

- Go to an elevation or a section and draw Levels cutting the sphere

- Select the sphere mass and use Mass floor tool, then select the levels to create mass floors

- Use Floor by Face tool to create Floors from the mass floors
