How to choose and select Textures between "Base" + "Low" + "Medium" libraries

Hello,

This might be a "Newbie" question so I apologize in advance.

Can someone confirm how to use the higher resolution textures in Revit please ? I can't seem to find a way to do it.

I am adamant in that the "Base" + "Low" + "Medium" libraries were successfully installed.

In order to cross-check I can find all the textures in :

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\1 --> where the textures are 256 x 256 px in resolution

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\2, --> those are bigger with a resolution of 512 x 512 px

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\3 --> and finally the "medium" with the highest resolution of 1024 x 1024

However it seems that in Revit when I apply a material/texture it automatically defaults to the Base, lowest resolution of 256 x 256 px.

For the life of me, I can not find a way to select a higher resolution, or I am doing something wrong. In the next few weeks I am going to work on Room renderings and cabinets with relatively near close ups, where it makes sense to use the higher res textures. This workflow is going to last a couple of months.

So how does one "Set" Revit to pick/select into higher res textures ? Can you select (a higher res) on a case per case basis?.... is there something I completely missed.

Thanks for your help Smiley Tongue

Hey,

I'm not quite sure, if I understood your problem, but I think you have to change the JPEG-File in the Material-Settings. If you click on the material and go to looks or appearance (sorry, my programm is installed in german so I don't know which one it is) you should see the picture which will be rendered. Click on the name beneath and you can change the folder from Textures/1 to Textures/2. And don't forget to change the rendering options to high.

Thanks for your reply. So from what I understand the solution is to manually select the same texture in folder/1 folder /2 is that right? (and yes you are right the Tab is called appearance with the interface in English - Mine is in french but I am pretty adamant is is called appearance).

Is there a way to "Default" Revit to pick and choose in folder /2 ? (low res) or even better folder 3 (medium res)?
Thanks
