How to check a view for corrupted elements?

Hi, we are having the following issue while opening different views and sheets:

fylypof_0-1623138458667.png

We tried:

* Opening on different computers

* Selecting "Audit" while opening

* Disable Hardware Acceleration

* Clearing the "temp" folder

How to check the view (not entire file) for corrupted elements (as this article suggests)? This can be possibly the last option.

Also, do you have any suggestions?

It will be a matter of trial and error. Assuming it only happens in this particular project.

Sometimes it is just the view that is the problem. Then deleting the view and creating a new one solves the issue.

Otherwise it is a matter of strategically deleting elements from (a copy) the project and see if the issue resolves at a certain time. You first could focus on suspect objects (highly detailed families, extreme shaped objects, objects containing non Revit content like autocad)

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

sometimes you can get this information form the Journal file... check out this link:

in particular, check out these categories in the article:

  • interpreting Audit Results
  • Some Keywords to look for in the Journal file

To check for elements which are causing the error, try turning off the display of elements in the view before opening it.

To do this, go through the following steps:

  1. Single click on the view in question (in the Project Browser). This should show the properties for the view, without opening it.
  2. Click Edit for the parameter “Visibility/Graphics Overrides”.
  3. Turn off the visibility for all elements (this is to confirm that the error is being caused by one or more of the elements visible in the view).
    1. A fast way to turn off the elements would be to:
    2. Uncheck the Show model categories in this view checkbox at the top of the Model Categories tab.
    3. Uncheck the Show annotation categories in this view checkbox at the top of the Annotation Categories tab.
    4. Uncheck the Show analytical model categories in this view checkbox at the top of the Analytical Model Categories tab.
    5. Uncheck the Show imported categories in this view checkbox at the top of the Imported Categories tab.
    6. Uncheck the box next to each linked model in the Revit Links tab.
  4. If the error is cleared when turning of the visibility of elements, start turning them back on individually to find which type of element is causing the error (Model, Annotat6ion, Analytical Model, Imported categories, or Revit Links).
  5. Once you’ve identified the type of element, start turning the items under that tab off/on in groups to find the category of elements causing the error.
