How to change shape of beam at one end?

Hi guys, do you know how to change shape of beam like I draw below? Also I don't know how to create visible connections between wooden beams.

More important for me are visual connections.

In an earlier post constantin already mentioned how to create curved prulins. I think the easiest way is to create a structural framing family where you create the beam from a swept blend.

For the visible connections I would think detail drawings are more suitable.

Depending on the level of detail it is of course possible to create families for brackets or to create voids (for dovetails etc).
