How to calculate in windows families using the sill height in lieu of using the default sill height?

Hi

I am trying to read  some specific height of a window wich means the Sill height plus the height of the fixed panel.

I am using reporting parameter (shared) for doing that but on the project it still reading just the default sill height. It not changes when I change the sill height itself.

I don't know if it is a great idea creating my own sill height, it can be weird for the team.

Any ideas?

TIA

The sill height which you read in the project (when you load and place the family) is a perk of the Inserts categories (doors/windows) you do not need to add one of your own in the family. Actually, if you do add a custom one, you could end up messing the reading of the built in one.

To schedule/report the height which you need, do the following

  1. "Altura do Vidro Fixo" Should be shared parameter
  2. In the Project Model creat winodw schedule
  3. Add the parameter from 1 aboe
  4. Add Window Sill (the default ootb parameter)
  5. Create a Calculated value in the Schedule = [Sill Height] + [Altura do Vidro Fixo]

Thank you for the response.

But my intent is to use it in tags, not in schedules.

I think I will create a shared parameter with this height not associated with a physical dimension of the window and fill it in manually.

Depending on the version of Revit you are using (2022 or later), Sill Height can be added to the tag and/or used in a calculated value in the tag. Hence the same principle I mentioned in the previous reply, you can use in a window tag
