How to add another run at the bottom of stairs?

I would like to add a jog so I pull back the grip to remove two risers but I'm not sure how to continue drawing the same stair.

Draw another run start from 0 then add a landing to connect to the existing run.

A new run as a part of the first stair?

It wants to connect to the upper run but not the lower run

and I can't make these two connect

Does it work if you convert to a sketch and draw the additional piece?
