How do i show Revit link as solid conistent colours

Hi all,

I have linked a Revit Architecture to an M&E model and the model shows as a kind wireframe. It is not useful at all it is just a big mess of lines, I don't understand how anyone can adjust the M&E accurately when it looks like this.

I have made the ducts pink and blue, but I would just like the linked model to have 'consistent colours' also. Is there any way I can do this? I know you can override lines and elements but that still keeps it in wireframe.

Thanks in advance

Do you mean to set visual style to hidden line? Or do still want to see the ducts etc? Not sure what you're after.

I would like the building to be in colour also (the building is the revit file which has been linked in).

You can create a coloured 3D view as you like within the linked file (select all/override elements or using Visibility Graphics) and set view representation in the host file to By Linked view under Revit links, then select the created 3D view there. It should not be set to wireframe visual style. You can set transparency for the view also.

Do you mean like this in the image I have attached?

Because I have done this and as you can see in the background on the model, it is still showing as just lines.

Perhaps you've set the visual style to hidden line Consistent Colors, but applied 100% transparency. Make sure it's less. Note: within the linked file. (PS what Revit version are you working with?) Another option might be to try setting Revit Links to custom and then customize model category overrides...

Oh silly me, I had the discipline set to Mechanical. When I switched it to Architectural, it changed to how I wanted it.

Thanks for your help
