How do I hide title block borders when printing to pdf?

Hey, I print my floor plans on certain scales so I can import them to illustrator to design a poster and it works really well to print on the scale. the problem is when I import them to Illustrator the borders of the PDF file show which are the borders of the title block. this really ruined the poster and I can't simply put something on top of it because I put multiple plans next to each other and on top of the artwork.

I tried cropping it from illustrator but that turns the image from vector lines to rasterized which crumbles the image. I also can't simply hide it from view as that prints you actually nothing and If I toggle its graphics visibility off it prints the whole view without scale.

Create an empty titleblock family and replace your title block type with the empty type prior to print. When done, replace the empty type with the original.  To do it quickly, right click a title block, select all in project, change type from type selector list.

I am not sure how hiding the title block ruins the scale...

Option 1:

  • Simply use Temporary Hide to hide the Title Block
  • in the PDF export settings set the Scaling to 100% instead of Fit to Page

Option 2:

If you want to continue using Fit To page

  • Edit the Title block Family
  • Do 1 of the following:
    1. Either Change the Lines to Invisible Lines category or
    2. OR Delete the Lines and replace with Reference Lines
  • Both Invisible and Reference Lines will allow scale to fit to certain paper format
