How do I change color of text?

I have some text I'd to have as a color other than black. I tried changing it in "Edit Type" in the color parameter under Graphics, I changed it to a shade of blue but it does not affect the text color. I am using Revit 21016. Any help would be appreciated.

You can change the color in the Text Type Properties...Select text >> Edit Type >> Change color

I did exactly what you suggested and the color did not change. I did copy the text to new project and now I'm able to change the color of the text. I then duplicated the view, and on the duplicated view I can change the color of the text. The original view I still cannot change. Another Revit mystery...

Any chance the text your saying wouldn't change is in a tag or in a schedule editing view?

Maybe you have an Override made to the text. If so, you will be no able to make the change unless you, first, give up the override...

There are no mysteries in Revit ...

A post with a general question receives a general reply; thats what one usually gets when no significant info is provided...well that OR assumptions...Personally I am not really into the latter (used to but not anymore unless it is something worth it)

SO; maybe someone would be able to help if you could be more specific and provide more givens such as

  1. What/which type of text are you refering to?
  2. Where is that text? in a family/tag/annotation/title block....
  3. Is it only in this revit file you are unable to change text color?
  4. Did you try to change the color in any other file or a new file and it was also a fail?
  5. Did you check your overrides?
  6. A screenshot would be also nice to see what you are looking at on your screen

If you are unable to identify any of the above; attach the revit file and someone will definitly look into it...lots of helpful users on this forum

I am having the same issue. I do not have any overrides; and this is a new project. My text will not change from black to any other colour.

Hi All,

Just had the same problem, my 'white' text showed black.

@rodayeboss , not sure about your issue but for the rest, if it is just white change the RGB to 254,254,254, Autodesk has an issue with White (255,255,255)
