How can I turn plaster around the column

I want to turn plaster of the wall around the column how can ı do this? I am adding caps .Thanks..

I achieve this sort of stuff by trimming the walls to overlap the column, then join the column to each wall. It will cut away the overlap Making it appear only plaster is running past.
