Hi,

is there a way to draw a hole of a certain depth in RC strip footing?

Something like this:Capture.JPG

This can be done with a Generic Model face based family.  Create the void shape you need and cut it from the provided object and you should be able to cut the footing.

If you are in the project, use @Anonymous approach by modeling the void and cutting the footing with it using in-place component method. Set your work plane to the top face of the footing.

There are some basic rules with using voids to cut elements:

- System elements (walls, floors, pads, roofs, strip footing) can be cut by in-place voids and voids in loadable families

- Loadable elements (columns, beams, isolated footing, etc..) can only be cut by voids in face based loadable families

* Exceptions:  System face based opening tool can also cut floors, ceilings, roofs, columns and beams, but not walls and footings.
