Is there any way to hide elements in creating family? Im familiar with "Temporary Hide". Is there any way to work around this? I want to hide alot of things,  i found it very annoying that i can't UNHIDE a certain element without unhiding everything.

not sure what you're asking... if your elements in a family you want to turn On/Off you can add a Visibility parameter to it.

If you wanting to turn On/Off content in the model,

  • You can Hide by Element vs by Category.
  • You can use worksets to place you content on and turn On/Off the worksets to control visibility.
  • View Filters could be made to identify items to turn off.
  • View Templates can be made and applied to views to only show the content needed.
    • View Templates can be used to control the Filters and Worksets....

im refering to the temporary hide function on/off.  Your tips are valuable but i don't think they are useable in a family template. Right now im making a stair, as a generic model. Very often i need to hide a specefic component, ref line etc. What i mean't in the poster is that i can't find a good way around to have more controll over hide/unhide. Temporary hide works good to HIDE, but "UNHIDE" unhides everything and i have to Hide everything again.

Thanks for the clarification, I thought you were trying to hide family content in a project model.

Within the family creator there is limited options for hiding/unhiding specific elements. Besides the Visibility Graphics and Isolate tool, I will use the Preview Visibility (in the status bar) to see what something will look like with certain settings applied.
