HELP: trees shown as grey box

Help,

Suddnely trees appear as grey boxes.

Initially I thought it was a file corruption as I tried on different desktops, but this morning I have uninstalled and installed the whole software and the problem persists. Even on a new revit file. The most strange thing is that some of the tree families are shown correctly while others are not.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Two things that come to mind -

1) Check the level of display of your view - make sure that it is set to Fine

2) Edit the family. Select the geometry. Make sure that it is set to display at all levels of detail

for some reason the Family can't find the RPC resource it is supposed to be using. Make sure you have access to the location the family is attempting to pull the RPC from, and make sure the RPC assets are actually there.

You mentioned you already re-installed, but it seems like all of the content is not being installed, or your RPC paths are going somewhere else for some reason?

You can also try reloading all of the families that are showing the boxes. If you have updated the path, this might fix the problem.

Leave her alone until this cyber Monday, hyper Tuesday, and psycho week is over, at least.

Sooooo... you think she is out shopping?

Any chance we can keep this Technical Support Specialist also? How awesome would it be to have TWO of them?

We've got to keep tabs on these in-house forum spies you know. They might try to take over control of their own forums or something. Smiley Tongue
