Hi,

You have to run the command "Join Geometry" from tab Modify and click the beam and the floor (the order doesn't matter).

If the join is not the desirable after Join Geometry you have to run the command "Switch Join Order"

and click again the beam and the floor (the order doesn't matter also).

"join" is not active at all when pointing at the girder

Edit the family and set the 3d element to be visible for all detail levels (coarse, medium, and fine). You may also need to set the material behaviour to other.
