gridlines

how does one get the gridlines to be at the rear of the drawings visually so walls, doors, windows, etc are on top of the grid instead of the grid line bisecting the lines representing the building walls, windows, columns, etc
no decent architectural drawing would have the grid line be printing on top of the linework for the walls, doors, windows, etc.
thank you

Hi, @jkennon ,

In the Grid Line Type Properties, it is possible to set the Center Segment to "None". The end segments can then be adjusted outside the building lines.

Interesting statement.  Are we talking GRID Lines?  If so, they are typically in the foreground - at least in my neck of the woods.  Maybe a screenshot from you would clarify what you are talking about?

thank you for the reply - we were aware of this option - we are just wanting the gridlines to be visually  "behind" the walls, doors and other graphic items of the  drawings - based on all the feedback it seems Revit is just not capable of achieving this graphic result
thanks again for the help

@barthbradley
thank you - below is an example of the issue - the highlighted grid lines overwrite the door frame, and the walls and the casework and the countertops

That's exactly what I thought you meant.  I can think of several workarounds if it is really bothersome to you, but none will draw the actual Grid in the background.

please share - but like you state - seems it is really a software shortcoming

Looking at your screenshot I can tell the easiest way is set the grid lines to black.
