Dimensions not accurate

Hi guys,

I'm working on a multi-level apartment and modeling typical units/facades and areas.

Something I've noticed is that the dimensions aren't precise. For example, I'm getting 2700.01 instead of a rounded number. What's the best way to ensure that all walls/facades and areas are accurately modelled? Thank you.

First of all i think this number is somehow neglibile ,but if this is a problem you can activate the decimals for all dimensions and for the Temporary Dimensions. So when you are modeling it will obvious for you the real dimensions between elements.

I think you're a bit turned around. The dimension is accurate, but you are wanting to round it to look nicer/easier to read. So you actually want it to be less accurate, which is perfectly fine.

Go to the Manage bar, find the Project Units tool, and adjust these settings as you see fit. You can also change these settings for specific dimension style types by selecting a dimension and editing the type. Scroll all the way to the bottom and adjust the unit settings.

Unless you feel the need to make your model more accurate, in which case, just modify the dimensions so they are what you want.

as @mhiserZFHXS said, your dimensions are accurate as what and where you place something is completely controlled by the user. If you want the rounding to be different change the project units to reflect this. However just because a dimensions rounding shows one thing the dimension itself can still be different. See pic example showing difference between dimension string and the properties of the dimension.

If I want the wall to be exactly 4'-6 1/8" apart I need to select one of the walls, then click the dimension value and then change the dimension to exactly what I want.

Create different dimension types with different units rounding depend one what they are for.  Dimensions in a site plan need not have the same rounding as dimensions in a enlarged detail.

I would say 2700.01 is "precise".

Are you saying that the dimension is wrong (e.g. it should read "2700.00", not "2700.01"), or are you saying that you want the dimension to read "2700.00" (e.g. rounded down from 2700.01)?
