Gride Guide Not Same Position on Sheets

I am trying to use the grid guide to quickly align my floor plan views on different sheets. The view on the left is the first floor and the view on the right is the 2nd floor. As they are now on the sheet they are very close to being align by hand/eye.

See the grid line and the RED line on either view other being just under the 17 in mark defined on the sheet.

They are aligned similarly vertically as well.

The GREEN mark shows the grid intersection I am using in the project to base the alignment off of.

You can see how the left view grid guide is aligned to this green grid mark. However, the right view is off. If my sheets are aligned properly, should the grid guide location be the same?

Yes. Same grid guide used, same titleblock template.

Cut and paste aligned the titleblock from one sheet to the other see if they are at the same place.

Wait, the grid guide is not stuck to the titleblock?

What is the correct alignment procedure?

1. Align Titleblock/Sheet to Grid

2. Align View to Grid

I was thinking the grid guide was tied to the titleblock/sheet.

You can have multiple definitions of guide grid so you have to set the view to the correct one i.e. to match the alignment with the other view.

You can even use the guide grid to determine the true origin position of the sheet:

Create an empty sheet without title block.

Create a new guide grid with the empty sheet active

The bottom left corner will then be the origin of the sheet

You can then use this guide grid elsewhere i.e. on sheets already containing title blocks

After creating a guide grid and adjusting you should then pin it so it isn't inadvertently moved (if you pin it in one view it is pinned in all views).

You can see in this example above the Metric A1 Autodesk title block in the structural template has a +2.5mm and -1mm discrepancy. This is an error in the title block family as title block is placed at sheet origin when sheet is created with a title block. I've marked actual view origin with red lines.

If you create a new guide on a non-empty sheet then the grid will resize itself to encompass all the content, so that's important to consider. It usually still aligns it with 0,0 but it would extend into the negative region to encompass elements there i.e. view origin would be one of the internal grid intersections and not on the corner of the border.
