Hello dear community. I get the following error when setting the parameter ''Desfase cerramientos'' to a wall in his lower offset: "A formula in a global parameter causes a circular chain of references between highlighted elements. The formula must be eliminated to resolve the circular chain". The problem is with only one wall. The temporary solution is to generate the offset manually but I want to understand why the error occurs.

Report parameters cannot be used in calculating any other parameters in general. Even in revit families, if you want to use any parameters to calculate then use type parameters.

@Corsten.Au @barthbradley I followed the steps from a video of a Linkedin Learning Course. It's in spanish but has english subtitles. The video has been attached so you can understand what I did.

I had pending to address this topic to finalize it, so I will do it now.

I solved the problem as follows:

1. Cut (Ctrl+X) the model elements causing the circular reference issue.
2. Paste (Ctrl+V) the cut part back into its original position.
3. Apply the global parameter corresponding to the base constraint and top constraint of the relevant elements.

In this project, I remember that applied this method to 2 walls. Thanks to @barthbradley and @Corsten.Au for helping me reach the solution. If this method helps another user, a like on this comment would be appreciated to know I am helping AEC professionals and students.
