Generic annotation in front view of a family

Please advise how can i add a generic annotation in the front view of a family.

For example, i am attaching a family of a simple art work model which i need to put in the front view a text ( ART WORK) to be shown in the internal elevation of a project.

Put, the generic annotation family never accepts to be put in the front view, only in plan. Any solutions ?

many thanks in advance

You cannot. You need to do that in the Project. Use a Tag.

...probably better to Tag it in specific Project Views anyways. You wouldn't want the GA visible at all View Scales.

Tag in Elevation.pngTag in Elevation1.pngTag in Elevation2.png

Thanks, but no, i really need to show this info in all views to save time to tag them all, as it is not a tag but a part of the model info which i need it to be shown with the model.

But many thanks to your reply

You can do it by through AutoCAD.

  • Either use a text made in Revit (annotation) then export in CAD format and reimport it in Revit Family while in Front View (without opening AutoCAD)
  • or make your text in AutoCAD and import then in Revit Family
  • do not explode the imported file

Use model text then.

This is a very smart idea, thanks to you, although it will never be dynamic, i mean i can never change this text as it'll not be a label, but this idea shall solve me half my problems. I thank you very much. And if there is no any solution for a dynamic / label annotation i'll consider this a solution.

There is a workaround create a detail family.
nest your annotation in to this one and bind a parameter that controls the text parameter from your annotation object.
load this into your artwork family and place it in view.

have a working version of it using numbers attached below.

Actually, this would have been the perfect solution i was looking for, but when i load the family to the project the annotation doesn't show up. Am i doing anything wrong ?

I mean, did you load it in the project and the annotations was visible?

the annotation has to be in a seperate detail family and controlled by a parameter. you then nest the family into your detail family and bind the controls to a parameter there after that load it in to your project to change the text change the parameter you have bound it to.
