Generic annotation family

My generic annotation family has a triangle shape and a line to underline whatever we need to emphasize on the sheet (paper space)

Questions:

1.   Although it has reference line on the model, it won't allow me to drag its length manually. (Yes, the ref line set to "weak"). What should I do?

2.   I created new line type AA with thickness to 5, yet when inserted only the style appear as desired "hidden', but the thickness seems to default to 1.

I look all at setting and couldn't find AA, further more to change this thickness.

3.  Surprisingly, the symbol with filled region does work on paper space. I can create some parametric rectangles to achieve filled region effect on paper space when needed. Should this be non-revit and be avoided ? We don't want certain crash or file size increase unnecessarily...

Thx

From how it looks like in the image, what you need is a detail components (line based maybe) and not a generic annotation. If you attach the family it would be much easier to check what you have done and the best way to fix it. And no this is not a non-revit practice. This is a simple line based detail item

Grip arrows don't exists in generic annotations, afaik.
You could:

Create a Detail item, or insert your generic annotation into the detail item (be careful with the units).
Or
Instead of a generic annotation, change the category to Title Blocks (NOTE! The family will only work on sheets!)
