Hello!
I am using Revit 2018, and for exporting my model to gbXML, I had to go through following steps:
1. going to 3D view
2. export to gbXML
3. creating an energy model, either by using Energy Setting or by using Room/Space Volume
I chose Energy setting, So:
4. assigning room and/or space tags
5. assigning location
6. export category: spaces
7. detailed element: checked!
8. Area and volume computation: checked!
9. Finally generate the model!
So here are my questions:
1. Can someone please verify if this is the correct procedure or am I missing something?
2. I watched some videos about Revit 2016 gbXML export process, and there were more energy setting options to play with, such as export complexity. Where are these options in Revit 2018?
3. What should I do in the Heating and Loading tab in the picture below?
4. And what about the picture below? What should I do about Use Load Credits, and Building Envelope?
5. Finally, my most important question is that, even without assigning these values, a gbXML model is created. But if I insert these info and run an analysis inside Revit (or Insight), will these information be available in the gbXML file? I'm asking because I want to transfer in model to OpenStudio and EnergyPlus.

I found the solution:

Question 3:
"You can select the specific element categories for which you want to use schematic types. Any element categories not overridden with a schematic type will continue to use the default conceptual types. If the Detailed Elements option is enabled, schematic types and conceptual types are overridden by materials-based thermal properties, where defined. "

Question 4: tick the check box "Use Load Credits"

However, I have no clue about question number 5:

Follow up question:
Will the gbXML expoted file be different if we create zones in Revit model, atop of spaces or rooms?
In other words, when we create a room with a room tag, it will be enough for generating an energy model and exporting our model to gbXML. Because according to Autodesk help, regardless of model having space tag or room tag (as long as having one), the energy model will be generated. But what if we generate a zone, and fill its relevant fields such as air filteration rate or set point and so...
