Galvanized Steel Grating & Top Level going passed in constraints

Hello:

So I have a few questions:

1) I am trying to make a slope from the T.O. Steel high to T.O. Steel Low Side, but I don't know how to make it connect? I have the needed slope, but I can't figure a way to connect the high slope point to the T.O. Steel high, and the low slope point (end point) to the T.O. Steel Low Side.

Capture.JPG2. I am trying to create a Serrated. Galvanized Steel 19-W-4 1-1/2" x 1/8" Steel grating, but I am not sure what that means? I've seen pictures of what it is, it is like a steel floor with spacing having small gaps like squares or rectangles, but I do not know what any of this means? I was wondering if anyone could model it for me? or give me direction how to approach the model?

3. I am trying to place rebar at the foundation where the concrete is, but I cant seem to get it right. Here is a picture of the model, but I can't seem to get the rebar correct when I go to structure, rebar, click OK, then I did Sketch Rebar and tried to sketch, but I couldn't get it. I was on the T.O. Concrete floor plan level, so I think I was in the correct one?

You might try searching on-line for a Revit family that you can download and inspect.  Use the keywords: Revit Family, Serrated, Galvanized Steel, Grate.  Betcha you find something.

I searched already and couldn’t find anything. That’s why I’m posting here.

No hits for grates???  You don't need to find one that models the serrated edges. That level of detail is silly.

If the they are structural members then you can grip drag the column top to meet the beam.

I would advise against modeling it.  Adding those holes to your model with bring the performance to a crawl.  Create normal roofs/floors/ceilings for horizontal or sloped surfaces, and normal walls for vertical surfaces, then apply a material that resemble the grating (revit has some already, you juts need to load them in your material library.

Hi @Anonymous

Try cutting a section though the Concrete foundation then place the Rebar.  Good luck

I am still unsure how to get the roof to slope. Here It was I have. I measured the slope degrees to be 4.76 degrees, which I put, but I can't get the right side to be sloped. I am unsure how to make it all be one, instead of two roofs sloping towards each other.

Hi @Anonymous

This is what you have drawn, with two lines defining the slope:

Current roof.PNG

You need to un-tick Defines Slope for the High end of the roof:

I do have it unchecked. I don't know how to define the slope to make it go down from 136' - 5 1/2" to 133'-9".

To slope up, do it as I have pictured, to slope down Apply "Defines slope to the opposite end and set slope as negative value

Hey @Anonymous!  I did find a serrated knife on-line.  That work?  I can clean the blood off of it and send it to you if you want.

...of course I'm fooling.  No blood on it.  😉
