Foundation not visible in different levels.

Friends!

I have since one  year REVIT 2019 and 2020 in my computers but sometimes I doubt on myself. I am following the instructions  of YouTube Videos. 

Let me explain: I have 3 levels and all columns are going from the top to the foundation to the end of a a roof top upper surface. 

When I go to the top of slap (foundation) I cannot see the square of the foundation for the columns. 

But in the Youtube Video you can. See attached images. I like to see the foundation in all levels THX

either check you view range or set your detail level to fine and check your elevation crop view. thanks

You sure the Category is turned on?

Check your phase filters and see if they are precluding showing the foundations.

if none of the above work :-).... In the view properties, set your underlay option to the level below.

Sorry for the delay to all. I had to move for a job. Where can I find the underlay option [question sign not working all of the sudden] I am a bloody beginner. Please step by step where I can find the underlay option.

I was not angry. I am only disappointed. I work since 1996 with CAD first 2D and later 3D. I am sure Revit is a great program. But commands and solutions are better to find in CATIA and NX. Means, without help from a forum. I had 1 hour long a search in "View". And I was not successful.

Yes, architecture, Isolated foundation and below the "normal" tree. Or do you mean something else [question sign]

No, that's not what I was talking about. I was asking you if the Family Category (i.e. Structural Foundations, Structural Columns, etc.) for the element you can't see in the view is turned on (e.g. checked ) under the View's Visibility/Graphics Overrides.

BTW: every see the list of 33 Steps to Find Stuff?  If not, print the information at the link below, bronze it and mount it on the wall above your desktop. You'll thank me over and over for years to come.

I’m not at my computer currently, but the underlay can be found in the properties of the view, about halfway down. I believe the category, the grey category title, says Underlay.

OK, since today is my internet back and I can work with Revit and the Forum again. None of your answer brings me forward. Please treat me like a bloody beginner. 

Like: "Go to View/[or other] then click this then click this". I my 25 CAD were the solutions to 99% total simple. If I not moving I practice every day with Revit. Some works fine for a while but all of the sudden crashed my Porsche against the Berlin Wall, means I step in fresh concrete with Revit.

Since hours I test every way, no success.

Phases are the term used to refer to construction happening at different times. As in "Phase 1 will have the main building, while in two years we'll start phase two on the east wing," as an example. A view's phase can be found on the bottom of the Properties palette (the portion of your screen which looks a bit like a math table, with rows and columns, the left columns having classes of information and the right side having that info's provided value). On the bottom of the Properties palette, when you haven't selected anything by clicking on it, you will see two rows: "Phase Filter" and current phase. The latter says what phase of the project you are viewing, the former shows how the graphics will appear in lieu of the selected phase. So if the foundation element is set to be built in the future (i.e. "New Construction") and you are viewing the present state of a building or site (i.e. "Existing"), the foundation will not be visible. You would need to change the current phase to show New Construction to see the foundation of this is the case.
