Flow configuration options for connector

Hello

 

I am not getting what is flow configuration for a connector,  while creating a family in Revit which is related to plumbing or hvac.

and what is that 3 options like preset, calculated and system, which one when we have to use???????

 

 kindly Can anyone explain me......

The Flow Configuration for a Connector allows for the "flow" of data thru the family to the additional components that make up the system.  Depending on what system you are building, what family type your building (i.e. VAV Box, Air Diffuser, etc.), the Flow Configuration can be set to your desired engineering needs.
