Floor Slab is in the way of making selection

I have had an issue with cross selecting things in the plan. Floor slab is always in the way, whenever I try to cross select something, the floor slab will be the one selected and dragged; so I pin the floor slab, still can't solve the issue. So, I end up having to keep hiding slab whenever I need to select and edit something.  Not sure what cause this and how to fix it? Thank you!

Use these two select switches, one turns off select elements by face and one turns off drag elements on selection. They have a red cross when off

Thanks! It solved the issue after I disabled "drag element on selection"
