So I'm unsure where what I'm doing is going wrong here.
I have a cut pattern override that I want to apply to many walls within a floorplan view. I'm aware that settting the "Orientation in Host Layers" setting within the pattern's properties will determine how that pattern orients when used in a view. I currently have this setting for the pattern in question set to "Aligh with Element". An image:
To my knowledge, this should mean that the fill pattern will orient to the element it is hosted to. Makes sense.
For some areas of my plan, this is working as expected. The fill pattern is applying to walls and rotating into the expected position:
Notice that the pattern applies differently to horizontal and vertical walls.
In other areas of the plan, though, the behavior of how the pattern override orients to walls isn't the same despite using the same pattern and override method as the image above. The orientation is just working in some areas of the plan and not in others. See below:
Here, the pattern maintains the same orientation through vertical and horizontal walls.
I cannot share the project unfortunately as this is confidental work. Why would this be working in some instances but not in others, though? Everything (besides wall type and phase) is the same between the two instances shown above.
